Agritourism and Biblical Gardens

Sowing sacred land

Seventy percent of the land of Bethany Beyond the Jordan will be devoted to pure farmland, featuring fruits, vegetables and herbs that were essential to the biblical story. The farmers of the Jordan Valley, many of whom have been farming this land for centuries, will be responsible for planting and picking the crops. The biblical gardens will function as a nature preserve, a base for conservation research, and a therapeutic and tranquil area for visitors and pilgrims. Native plants and trees, such as balsam, date, lemon, and fig trees, transport visitors to the time of baptism and encourage spiritual reflection and relaxation.
